TYPO3 article in "iX"

Zope and TYPO3 were the two open source CMSes picked for a closer inspection in the September 2001 issue of iX magazine for IT professionals in Germany.

iX concluded: "Typo3 has no need to hide behind its expensive competitors backs. All functions needed for large dynamic websites are available out of the box, further functionality can be integrated with little effort thanks to PHP. The complex template language is a good deed for every web designer and HTML developer, and the easy to use frontend will please every editor."

PHP magazin #2

The second issue of the PHP Magazin (May 2002) featured an article about PHP based CMSes; SixCMS, Powerslave, RedSYS, Astarte webEdition and TYPO3. Of these only TYPO3 was licensed under the GPL. The others were commercial products.

In the comparison, TYPO3 stood head to head with these systems. Apart from giving TYPO3 credit for its many unique features, Markus Wolff stated:

"As Open Source system Typo3 is clearly on the road into the professional league"

Article in german c't

One of Germany's largest consumer computing magazines published an article about building websites with TYPO3.

The article was not so much a review, but rather a description of how the system works and who might need it.

The article was published in the 8th issue of c't in 2003 (7/4/2003)

Alt om Net/PC Pro Review

The November 2002 issue of the Danish IT magazine "Alt om Net/PC PRO" featured an article about 6 danish WCMSes. TYPO3 was the only non-commercial open source CMS featured and performed very well in the competition with the other systems. In particular the advanced graphics generation was highlighted as a superior feature (which had already been around for 3 years)

This was more or less the first time TYPO3 had ever gained any kind of attention in its home country, Denmark! But since TYPO3, at the time, was translated into 17 languages, meaning it was available to half of the Earth, it hadn't really worried us.

"TYPO3: Il CMS definitivo!"

The italian LINUX Magazine publishes an article on TYPO3 basics. Under the enthusiastic headline "the definitive CMS" (which we actually cannot deny) it deals with basic installation issues (localhost) and how to setup websites using standard templates.
